A near-fatal traffic accident sends 19 year-old Kyosuke Kasuga spinning three years forward in time, where his future self is missing and presumed dead. It's a race against time to find the missing 22 year-old Kyosuke and return the 19 year-old version to his proper time before he dies. To make matters worse, Kyosuke stumbles across his ex-girlfriend Hikaru, recently returned to Japan, whose feelings for him haven't changed.
Now, on top of everything else, he's faced with the added task of remaining true to his beloved Madoka. New Kimagure Orange Road - Summer's Beginning is ADV film's greatest Romance anime ever released (according to them)
Note: KOR - Summer's Beginning is the movie to the series of KOR. But no knowledge of the series is needed to enjoy/understand this movie.
REVIEW
Now I know many of you guys out there are thinking "hmmmm why would I want to watch an anime based on romance?" Well you guys need to get your heads out of the gutter. KOR is a great anime! And no I'm not the only guy who thinks so. Everyone so far that I have lent this movie to, all thought the movie was great!
Ok now that's out of the way, I can get to my real review. KOR - Summer's beginning's animation is much richer than it's series. The music is also very good.
But the best thing about KOR is the story! It's a wonderful story w/ a bit of humor thrown in there once in a while. But of course like many other anime, this one is the typical love triangle between a guy and 2 girls. But aside from that overused triangle theme, I can't find anything bad about this movie.
And KOR - Summer's Beginning's ending scene is one of my personal favorites. I just like the way it was put together and ended (unlike X :-P).
