BACKGROUND
It's Shibas' job to rid his kingdom of powerful sorcerers and
demonic monsters - for a price of course! In short, Shibas is a
a very well paid bounty hunter! Although he may be wicked, violated
and a real bastard at times, his services don't come cheap. He's
very good.
So good, that when a local nasty needs a powerful sorcerer to
serve as a sacrifice, the "honor" goes to Shibas. It's
just his bad luck that Shibas has no intention of cooperating...
REVIEW
This anime was AWFUL! You know how they say "don't
judge a book by it's cover"? Well that same phrase
applies to anime. The reason I rented this anime in the
first place was because the cover and back looks great.
But boy let me tell ya, was I disappointed.
First this anime is way to goofy for my taste. For
example: The main character gets weak when he sees
nature's beauty! Or the main girl gets weak when she is in
bad areas (like a Casino). Shibas (main character) is also
just like all the other anime hero/villain types. He's a
drunk and a pervert. Nothing surprising about his
character.
Also characters are full of weird names. Like
there's a rich girl in it named "Million
Dollars. Or the bad guy's name is "Mr. Cuttlefish."
Not much of a soundtrack in this anime and the animation isn't
exactly great. To top it off the story is weak as well.
I later founded out that, this anime was made from the creator
of Sorcerer Hunters. And I just slap myself in the head
saying "No wonder!" Now don't get me wrong, I
liked "Sorcerer Hunters." But that explained why
"Sorcerer on the Rocks" was so goofy.
Man thank goodness I rented this anime instead of buying.
Anyway I figure I better write a review on an anime I don't
like. Since I pretty much enjoyed all the other animes I
wrote about (except SF: Alpha).
I say save your money! I would however rent it just to
make fun of it.
If your looking for an anime w/ great magic and all, go rent X
or Record of Loddoss war.

Instead of Sorcerer on the Rocks, they should have called it
"Stupid Drunk Sorcerer."
