BACKGROUND

This movie ends Tenchi Universe :(.  In the story, Tenchi storms off into the hills after a fight, but doesn't return. After searching for some time, Ayeka and Ryoko finally discover Tenchi seduced by a mysterious woman!
This movie takes place immediately after Tenchi muyo in love (Tenchi movie 1).  However there are some changes done to Tenchi in this movie.  When Ayeka and Ryoko finds Tenchi, he's no longer the same age.  Tenchi is 3 years older and has grown his hair out!  So if you ever wondered how Tenchi would look when he's a bit more mature, then you'll get your answer in this movie!

REVIEW

One thing that I've noticed when I watched this movie is the superb animation.  It seems that when Hayashi made this film, he put a lot more effort into it.  Of course he should, since it is the ending of Tenchi Universe!  All the characters in this movie look a lot sharper and much much better animated, so they look more human like then ever!  Now for you Tenchi fans who likes the series for it's humor, you'll be disappointed.  Tenchi Forever has NONE!!!  This movie is completely serious and revivals a different side to Tenchi Muyo!   And if your a fan of Tenchi for it's action/fighting, you'll be disappointed as well.  There isn't really any fighting in this movie.  Through out most of the movie, it just shows Tenchi and Haruna spending time together and Ayeka and Ryoko looking for Tenchi.  And at certain parts, the movie got boring, but not enough to put you to sleep (like Lain or Garasaki - in Ping's opinion).  Also in this movie, it concentrates on Tenchi, Haruna, Ayeka, Ryoko, and Yosho.  Therefore you really don't see much of any of the other girls or the Cabbit.  But those two are probably the only negative I see in this movie.  Another thing that I like about this movie, is that they finally let Tenchi get Lucky!!!!!!!!  And sorry Ayeka and Ryoko fans, it's not w/ one of them.  BUT (don't worry - not a spoiler) at the end of the movie, in a way you find out who Tenchi likes more between Ayeka and Ryoko.
Now I must say, I am pretty satisfied how they ended Tenchi Universe with this great movie!

Ping's Last Comment:  The Carnival finally ended :(
