Council meeting on the 15th

5/10/03
Yo guys what is up? crazy weather we've been having huh? 100 tornadoes in one week. Of course in the distant future they will probably use the scenario in a movie or an anime  (coughperfectstormcough). All council members (even the newbies) are to attend the last council meeting (on the 15th) which will decide the fate of the club for next year. All you people that come to us looking for anime can go to animania in Ann Arbor I am told there will be a plethora of series being shown. By the way people we need feed back if you go to a screening tell us what you liked and what you didn't like that is why we have a message board....among other things. Other than that I will have more to  update in the coming week.

Well guys, the time has come.  I am officially retired from the PCEP Anime Club Website.  With the end of the winter semester drawing near, I am hammered with final papers and exams to prepare for.  Also not to mention the lack of anime news, I am not capable of updating much anymore.  So since I was planning to retire soon anyway, might as well do it during my busiest time.

Its been fun everyone.  I would like to thank everyone that sticked w/ the site the whole time I've been running it.
Christian, Joe, Lesley, Brandon, and Gryphon.

Enjoy the club, I'm sure Christian will do a fine job maintaining it.
I will see everyone at your final screening.

3/24/03
we have a screening this Friday at the Dubois theater. We are showing his and her circumstances, excel saga, and Unfortunately we have shamanic princess being introduced. A Reminder to all council member that we have to have the flyers put up before Tuesday (why doesn't anyone give me a disk with the recent flyers?). On a last note we will also be issuing out new council member applications (yay!! more people to warp and corrupt).
In other news the movie of Rurouni Kenshin has come out (Reflections). And if you haven't already picked it up, the new love hina manga(volume 9) just came out a week ago. Both are really good and will make a good addition to anyone's collection. ^_^ see you guys at the screening.

Niiza City in Saitama prefecture will register "Tetsuwan Atom"
(aka Astro Boy)as an actual resident of the city on April 7th, 2003. This is the date of his "birth" in the manga.  Niiza City is going to prepare a special registration form with a printed picture of Atom's face. The address to be written in the form will have the address of the Tezuka Production Company: 4-4-14, Nobidome, Niiza-shi, and the "head of the household" is Professor Ochanomizu.
Those Japanese are so weird.

Rumiko Takahashi fans rejoice!  For Maison Ikkoku is finally coming out on DVD this summer!

If you don't know the story of Maison Ikkoku, its basically about a ronin name Godai who lives in a crack down apartment called Maison Ikkoku, his roomates are all drunks and he can't get any studying done.  While on top of that, he falls in love w/ his apartment manager.  Thus a great comdey/romance is created!

Maison Ikkoku is by far my favorite manga of all time.  The Anime is not as good but still worth the money.

Wow its been a while since our last update.  Sorry everyone.  Well at least I got a news update now:

Believe it or not, but Ninja Scroll is going to have a TV series coming out soon.   Spanning 13 episodes and written by Yoshiaki Kawajiri, the TV series continues where series left off! Currently in production, the series will begin airing on WOWOW in Japan in April. The series will make its home video debut first in the US this fall, with the release in Japan following in winter.

Why the hell can't they just leave the masterpieces alone?????

Can you believe it?  Shonen Jump's premiere issue made American comic sale history!  With over 250,000 issues sold, Time magazine decided to do an article on Shonen Jump.  If you want to read the article, go here.

"According to Cartoon Network’s online programming schedule, Rurouni Kenshin will air weekdays at 6:30EST beginning March 17th. Although the online schedule has proven incorrect on occasion, it is very unlikely that a new acquisition would be posted unless broadcast plans had been secured, so viewers should expect to see Kenshin on television very soon."

All I can say about this is.......(like Pedro) NOOOOOOOOOO!
